Enhanced Composites Prepreg features our most popular twill weave carbon, pre-impregnated with an epoxy resin system. The near-perfect resin content (45-50%) maximizes the strength properties of the carbon fabric. You don’t have to worry about resin ratio, paving the way for repeatable, uniform parts.
The 3K tow fabric (3000 filaments per fiber) is similar to our Toray Weave set twill 200 gsm. As compared to plain weave counterparts, the 2×2 twill weave offers greater conformability and delivers a slight edge in strength.
Enhanced Composites prepreg uses a G2 prepreg system which is is a general-purpose system which can be used in a wide variety of applications including those requiring Class A surface finish. It is recommended to be use with motorsports, automotive parts, racing boats, drones, light aircraft, recreational equipment, and futures.
G2 Prepreg can be cured at 100°C to 120°C with good resin flow. Impregnated fabrics come with a standard 40% resin content for optimum performance and ease of use. The Enhanced Composites G2 Prepreg System can be applied to all weights of woven and non-crimp carbon, glass, and aramid fabrics. G2 Prepreg system is perfectly compatible with adhesive film to accommodate complex sandwich structures such as honey comb cores and other high-density foam cores.
Please follow the recommended to the cure cycle for each process
- Oven Cured : Pressure of the work piece is equal to atmospheric pressure
- Autoclave Cured : Pressure applied to the workpiece is equal to the pressure generated by the autoclave
- Hot Press Cured : Pressure applied to the workpiece is equal to the pressure generated by the press machine
Products should be stored in a refrigerated and low moisture environment, preferably below 0°C, and encased in a polyethylene bag, to ensure optimal quality and performance. Prior to use, the product should be thawed and allowed to reach room temperature before opening the bag to prevent moisture from condensation.
